The ceremony brought together distinguished guests, graduating students, parents, faculty members and staff to recognise academic achievements and celebrate the next phase of the students’ professional journeys. The event was presided over by Ms. Archana Surana, Director, ARCH College of Design & Business.
The distinguished guests included Sh. Vijay Golecha, Co-Founder and Director, Golcha Jewels, who delivered the Convocation Keynote Address; Dr. Rahul Mishra, State Director, KVIC, MSME, Government of India; and Sh. Rajat Verma, Assistant Director, DCH, Jaipur. Sh. Binoy Thoompunkal, Director – International, ARCH, and Sh. Siddharth Mohanty, Coordinator, ARCH, were also present, along with faculty members and staff.
During the ceremony, graduating students received their degrees and certificates in recognition of completing their respective programmes. The event also honoured students and alumni for their academic performance, innovation and contributions.
Delivering the keynote address, Sh. Vijay Golecha highlighted the importance of understanding the purpose behind every journey. He said that clarity about the reasons driving an individual’s efforts ultimately makes a difference, adding that a clearer understanding of one’s purpose can make the journey more meaningful and successful.
Reflecting on his experience at ARCH, Golecha said he was deeply moved by the work of the college’s Jewellery Design students. He remarked that he would have considered himself fortunate to have studied at ARCH himself.
Drawing on his experience as an artist, Golecha spoke of the strong creative connection he felt with the students. He encouraged them to preserve their individuality and creative ethos as they progress towards becoming professional designers.
Sh. Rajat Verma congratulated the graduating students and encouraged them to consider entrepreneurship as a pathway to creative freedom. He highlighted the government schemes and support mechanisms available to young designers seeking to establish their own ventures, urging them to explore these opportunities as they begin their professional lives.
Addressing the graduating batch, Dr. Rahul Mishra reflected on the opportunities available in the present era, observing that technology has made it remarkably seamless to accomplish tasks and pursue possibilities that were once difficult to access.
Using the metaphor of a river originating at a glacier and spontaneously winding its way towards the sea, Mishra encouraged students to recognise the opportunities and possibilities available to them today.
He urged graduates to use their education not only to seek employment but also to consider building enterprises of their own. He also emphasised sustainable living, responsible consumption and the conservation of resources for future generations.
Referring to the opening verse of the Isha Upanishad, Mishra highlighted the philosophy of respecting and responsibly using the world’s resources. He reinforced the importance of taking only what is required, conserving resources and working towards a sustainable future.
Addressing the graduating students, Ms. Archana Surana, Director, ARCH College of Design & Business, reflected on the broader purpose of design education and its potential to contribute to social change.
“Design is not merely a skill; it is a way of thinking, seeing and bringing about change in society. Our students are moving forward today not merely with a degree, but with a vision, a sense of responsibility and the ability to shape the future. The mission of ARCH has always been to prepare creative and confident professionals who can create meaningful impact in the world.”
The convocation recognised more than 75 graduating students with certificates. Students and alumni were also honoured across several categories for academic performance, innovation and contribution.
